Last weekend in the FAZ Sonntagszeitung, we had a full-page article about Americans leaving the US and wanting to come to Germany!
Why is this important?
Well it's always nice to see your work featured in the top publications in the country you work in. This take time, relationship building, and having the right connections.
18. May 2025, Wirtschaft (Economy) section Frankfurter Allgemeine
This is going to help more people feel comfortable about working with Immigrant Spirit and hopefully you too.
Here below are the basics from the article since it's in German and they don't have an online version published.
Hopefully this gives you a bit of confidence to reach out and share your story, wherever you are coming from, so that we can figure out the best strategy for where to start.
Here's the fact of the matter: Getting a job with only English is tough in Europe.
Why?
Even though it's a useful 2nd language to have, unless you want to move to UK, Ireland or Malta, you'll be in the minority.
Not many of the countries are a perfect fit.
There are a lot of sacrifices. For example from the US, you have the large salary cuts to consider. But that's just one factor of the equation. From most other countries, Germany is a large pay raise.
Essentially what I said here in this article is that even though Americans show interest in wanting to move, the next question is always: well, where is the best fit?
But what we find is that in order for someone to physically get up and move, instead of just showing interest, there needs to be some sort of direct impact on your daily life.
This is true for any country you're coming from. This needs to be the top priority.
Where you live shapes everything else happening in your life; Relationships, business opportunities, food and water supply, and general quality of life.
Take more time to make the biggest decisions; which in my opinion, is where you live. Send me a reply this week: What is holding you back from getting a better job in Europe for 2025? Is it really a top priority for you?
Have a nice rest of the week and weekend.
